And all the wannabe elitists.. I like realism.. but i dont like it when i dont have an option, for example for cut and blip. Better option would have been forced cut and blip for those who wish to use autoclutch. It would have simply made flatshifting impossible, and realism freaks could clutch themselves and cut and blip as much as their heart desires.. Now someone will say i like realism but dont have clutch pedal.. well when many here you are yelling at people to get a wheel to play a realistic game.. get a bloody clutch pedal to play it realistically!

EDIT:Oh yeah the way i mentioned would also give manual clutchers a slight advantage as it should be..

Yeah they have quite bit of range.. and maybe ergonomically not the best design.. heel and toeing is bit tricky but possible (i do it in GTL).

I have met too many wreckers/a-holes on the servers today.. first time in LFS.. and i mean intentional stuff.. one guy was chasing me for a lap and on slow corner just rammed flat out! missed me on the first time.. i thought he made some big error.. but when i saw him little while after.. he did the same! but this time he hit.. Maybe some people are frustrated with the patch and it brings the worst out? seems so.. first time ive had this bad experiences on one day. Anyway.. i like the patch.. its lot of work to drive.. but i guess its ok.. I think im gonna race the AI and with some friends on a closed server for few days, maybe the crazies have disappeared again.

I have to config my pedals anyway with DXTweak since they dont have separate drivers, and are fully adjustable.. So it was easy to do that way. If you mean that the "reduction" is same as controller sensitivity in most sims? it indeed makes the axis non linear but still dont make quite similar effect as i was looking for. (makes more smooth effect)

I havent met so much rudeness on any other forum (or in multiplayer) towards people.. i think his post was most polite, just saying his issues with the patch.. still being understanding of the developers aim.. and accepting that the next step is to get a wheel and learn using one... and still theres some ill replys.. shame on some. well.. heres mine..

I was just testing some open wheelers on the new south city layout.. all i can say.. i cant understand how people dont think this game is pretty.. it damn sure is.. and feels very immersive compared to other games because of the realistic decoration on the tracks.. and the physics... hehe.. im converted to LFS i reckon.

Yeah i do it sometimes.. when im driving a real intense or a hard combo.. its bad.. its also bad for the wheel me thinks because sometimes i notice im also pulling it to a direction or other (from or to me)while death gripping..

Hmm, indeed... This discussion and these arguments have been going on since the quake days (yes quake was the first game to start the "clan" tradition as it is today).. I guess i was trying to put some humor in the matter.. oh i remember how angry people got if some clan had same tag as they did! But i guess its also about well.. whenever you wear your tag you are representing in a way, and if someone else has almost similar tag, and for example acts a damn fool on publics.. the other group might be accidentally accused and flamiing and netwars occur and.. i really just should stick away from threads i have no place in..

Ive tried the demo few times over years, ive been always into sims and racing games.. now i finally bought a licence. Been so busy with other racing sims that never really got around buying it before.. and now i hope i had! having a blast with LFS.

okok i was corrected through pm. [SCR] and scr. indeed are very different.

I voted yes, in all sensibility.. its after all, some sort of abbreviation of the team name.. If i see a team race, well.. Bol-lox vs. Bol-lox its hard to say who wins and who drove like bollox.

Hehe thanks but my issue is solved.. i didnt want to adjust the range of the pedals (which i could do, i mean the physical range is fully adjustable), but rather make the cutting little easier, so its not that hard on the ankle. works a treat, getting on throttle is of course little bit different but easy to get used to.

I think thats the only way.. or learn using mirrors.. i preferred the old look keys myself but then again its nice also to see 45 degrees.. it has come handy quite few times already.

I was facing a problem with the new patch, i have so high degree of range in my pedals that it was very uncomfortable to cut the throttle enough with upshifts. I found a solution creating a curvature to the throttle axis using DXTweak2. This simply means, when i first throttle, its less sensitive than in the end of the axle, meaning i dont have to lift my foot so much to cut succesfully. Little word of warning, if you overdo this tweak it will make it harder to blip on downshifts. (and not good at all anyway, harder to get precisely on throttle) So find a nice balance, the way to do it is to move the center of the axis so that its not linear. Im not sure how this will work with all the controllers, i have Finnmotion pedals and i have no experience with other devices and DXTweak. Heres little explanation:

Download DXTweak2.

1.Select the correct controller.
2.Check which one is the throttle axis by pressing it.
3.Select the correct tab for throttle axis.
4.Adjust the centre value bit closer to "min" and click apply.
5.Check how the axis works pressing throttle.

Well, ive been testing it.. I guess the look keys are ok.. but autolift and autoblip.. bit of work driving is, i have so large degree of range in my pedals that its very hard.. i might have to add curvature to the axle function so that lifting gets bit easier. I do like the fact that game is harder but my ankle refuses to agree so far, after all the controllers are so different from real cars.. i need a shifter!
I will heel and toe more as soon as progressive brake pedal for sims is brought for me.. Ive done it in GTL for example but it never comes natural braking with range of axle. I personally was able to kill the clutch in LX6 withing 8 laps of short track, too hard to be precise with lifting changing gears with bloody buttons.. point of my post.. there propably aint one.. but im sipping my morning coffee and had a tickle in the fingertips. :throwrose

Well my suggestion lets you change the resolution in game, Lotesdelers suggestion will change it immediately

I hope they dont "improve" it, its best ive come across.. its nice to feel about everything the car does through the wheel!

edit cfg.txt in the LFS root directory and change line:

Start Windowed 0
to
Start Windowed 1

Should fire the game up in window and then you can change the resolution back
